Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

SALISBURY, MD - Luis Gonzalez gave up three hits over six scoreless innings in leading Delmarva to a 4-0 win over the BlueClaws on Wednesday night at Perdue Stadium.

Gonzalez, who spent three years with the Phillies before joining the Orioles before the 2013 season, has not allowed a run in his last three starts and improved to 6-0 on the season.

Delmarva (18-22/56-53) snapped a five-game losing with their win, the first game of a four-game series. The Shorebirds are now 14-6 against Lakewood this year.

Delmarva scored the game's first run in the 3rd inning when Lakewood catcher Andrew Knapp's attempt to pick off Anthony Vega at 3rd base ended up in left field and Vega came home to score. The Shorebirds added three runs in the 5th inning. Josh Hart drew a bases loaded walk from Jon Prosinski to make it 2-0. Jeff Kemp followed with a SAC fly and Drew Dosch added an RBI single.

Prosinski (4-4) exited after 4.2 innings and gave up four runs on five hits and three walks to suffer his 4th loss of the season. Will Morris followed Prosinski, throwing 3.1 inning scoreless innings and striking out a career-high five hitters.

Zach Green had two of the five Lakewood hits in the game. The BlueClaws (15-25/42-67) are back at their low-water mark of 25-games under .500 and were shutout for the 9th time this year.

The series continues at 7:05 on Thursday night. Yacksel Rios (4-0) throws for Lakewood opposite LHP Mitch Horacek (5-9).
