July 30, 2014 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Winston-Salem Dash News Release

The Chicago White Sox have announced the following roster moves affecting the Winston-Salem Dash:

- LHP Carlos Rodon promoted to Winston-Salem from Arizona League White Sox

- RHP Dave Putman activated from seven-day disabled list

- INF Grant Buckner promoted to Double-A Birmingham from Winston-Salem

- RHP Kyle Hansen promoted to Double-A Birmingham from Winston-Salem

The Sox selected Rodon with the third overall pick in last month's MLB Draft. It was the franchise's highest draft pick since it made 22-year big leaguer Harold Baines the top pick in 1977. Rodon was a star for three years with NC State, which reached the College World Series behind Rodon in 2013 for the first time since 1968.

Putman has been activated from the disabled list. He boasts a 3.68 ERA (3 ER in 7.1 IP) over his first six efforts at the High-A level.

Buckner played 180 games with Winston-Salem since the start of 2013, and he hit .261 with 14 homers and 88 RBIs. This season, Buckner suited up for 61 games at four different positions (1B, 3B, LF and RF).

Hansen leads the club and is tied for third in the Carolina League with eight wins, which account for half of the victories from the bullpen. Hansen was 8-4 with a 3.33 ERA in 31 outings, and he finished his time in Winston-Salem with 15.2 consecutive scoreless innings.

Winston-Salem's roster stands at 25 players, the Carolina League maximum.
