The Sea Dogs and Reading Fightin Phils wrap up their four-game series on Wednesday afternoon at Hadlock Field...Portland has won two of the first three games.

NEWS AND NOTES

NATURAL LIGHTING : The Sea Dogs and Reading Fightin Phils conclude their four-game series with a 12:00 PM start on Wednesday at Hadlock Field...Portland is seeking the series win, and would improve to 30 games over .500 for the third time this season...Last night was the 'Dogs last scheduled doubleheader - they are now 5-1-4 in twinbills this season...LHP Brian Johnson needs five innings in today's start to qualify for the Top 10 in ERA...Johnson spent July 26th as the league-leader in ERA.

THAT WAS A SPLIT : Portland and Reading split a doubleheader on Tuesday night, with the 'Dogs taking the opener 3-2, but dropping the nightcap 4-1...In the opener, LHP Henry Owens became the first pitcher in franchise history to win 14 games...Owens worked five innings on six hits, two runs, two walks and three strikeouts...RHP Aaron Kurcz worked the final two innings to earn his third save of the year...In game two, Reading's bullpen fired five scoreless and four different players had RBIs...RHP Jeremy Kehrt took the loss, giving up four runs on nine hits over 5.1 IP.
