July 29, 2014 - Southern League (SL1)
Huntsville Stars News Release

Huntsville, AL-Huntsville native Jed Bradley(4-5) did it all Tuesday night for the Huntsville Stars. He pitched six shutout innings and also provided the only offense in a 2-0 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts at Joe Davis Stadium in Huntsville.

Bradley, broke up the scoreless game in the fifth as he was locked up in a terrific pitcher's duel with Chattanooga lefty Chris Reed(4-8).

With the bases loaded and one out, Bradley worked the count full against Reed. On a 3-2 pitch, Bradley grounded a two-run single into left field scoring Joey Paciorek and Shea Vucinich giving the Stars a 2-0 lead.

That two-run hit by Bradley proved to be enough offense for the Stars.

Bradley fired six shutout innings. He allowed six hits and struck out six.

Bradley in his last two home starts is now 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in eleven innings against Tennessee and Chattanooga.

Greg Holle pitched a scoreless seventh and eighth innings out of the Stars bullpen. It was Holle's fifth consecutive scoreless appearance.

David Goforth came on in the ninth inning and recorded a 1-2-3 inning. Goforth, who earned his Southern League best twenty second save of the year, struck out Corey Seager to end the game.

The Stars(19-20, 65-44) lead the Lookouts(13-24, 39-68) 3-1 in their series which ends Wednesday. The Stars will have LHP Brent Suter(9-8, 4.49) on the mound. Chattanooga will send RHP RHP Steve Smith(0-0, 10.80) to the hill. The game can be heard with Steve Jarnicki starting at 6:15 pm CDT on 92.9 FM, 1450 AM and wtkiradio.com.
