Offensive Struggle

After putting up 23 combined hits in Monday night's contest, the IronBirds and ValleyCats would combine for just eight hits in Tuesdays contest. The Tri-City ValleyCats would sneak out a 1-0 win after a dominating performance from RHP Troy Scribner. The ValleyCats scored the game's only run in the top of the 7th when Jose Solano walked home on a bases loaded walk from IronBirds' LHP Max Schuh.

Pitcher's Duel

The IronBirds had their hands full Tuesday night as ValleyCats RHP Troy Scribner took the mound. Scribner, 5-1 before Tuesdays game threw a season high seven innings, allowing just three hits and two walks. Scribner was able to rack up seven strikeouts and earn the win. LHP Steven Tarpley took the mound for the IronBirds and was equally as impressive. Tarpley went 6.1 innings allowing four hits, two walks and struck out four. Despite Tarpley's efforts, he would allow the game's only run and take the loss.

Sleepy Bats

IronBirds' third baseman Austin Anderson and right fielder Riley Palmer were the only IronBirds to collect a hit. Anderson went 2-4 with two singles and collected his fifth multi-hit game of the season. Palmer went 1-1 with two walks as he continues his hot home stand.

Better Late than Never

The IronBirds will have an opportunity to walk away with a series victory over the ValleyCats as they wrap up an eight game home stand. The IronBirds will go up against LHP Randall Fant who is 0-1 on the season with a 6.97 ERA. Following Wednesday's game the IronBirds will travel to State College for a three game set with the Spikes.

Ubaldo Jimenez

For the fifth time this season the IronBirds will send an Orioles player to the mound. Dylan Bundy, Kevin Gausman, Steve Johnson and Jemile Weeks have all seen action in an IronBirds' uniform this season. Jimenez will make his first ever start in Aberdeen on a major league rehab assignment. The RHP was signed to a four year contract on February 19th by the Baltimore Orioles.
