LOWELL, MASS. - After celebrating his 20th birthday July 19, Mauricio Dubon has done nothing but hit, recording multiple hits in five of seven games during the week en route to earning New York-Penn League Offensive Player of the Week Honors for the week ending July 27.

A 26th round selection in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft, Dubon debuted professional with the Gulf Coast League Red Sox and was recognized by *Baseball America *as the best defensive player amongst the 2013 Red Sox draftees.

For the week that past, Dubon produced a slash line of .444/.429/.667, recording multi-hit games in five of his seven games played, impressively not striking out in any of his 27 at-bats. Dubon had two home runs, one of the inside-the-park variety, and nine RBI, scoring six runs while adding a stolen base and his always stellar defense.

For the season, Dubon is batting .294 (42-for-143) with three doubles, one triple and three home runs, ranking third on the team with 21 RBI. Currently riding a nine-game hitting streak, Dubon has raised his average from .256 to .294 over the past 10 days.

Dubon, who came to the United States at the age of 15 with missionaries who had visited Honduras, is the first Spinners player to earn Offensive Player of the Week honors since David Chester earned the honor the week of June 24, 2012.

The Spinners and Dubon finish a eight-game homestand Tuesday morning before hitting the road Wednesday morning. The team returns to Lowell Wednesday, August 6, for a six-game homestand. Tickets for that game and all six-games are available at www.LowellSpinners.com.
