PEORIA, IL- The Peoria Chiefs could only manage one hit, a first-inning single by Juan Herrera, against the Great Lakes Loons in a 4-0 loss on Monday morning. The Chiefs split the homestand with a 3-3 record and are 20-16 in the second half and 57-48 overall.

The Loons scored their first run in the second inning against Chiefs starter Arturo Reyes. Josmar Cordero led off the inning with a double and Alex Santana singled moving Cordero to third. Cordero scored on a RBI groundout by Webster Rivas for the Loons first lead of the series. Spencer Navin singled to right fielder Ronald Castillo who misplayed the ball, allowing Santana to score and Navin to reach third. Brandon Trinkwon plated Navin with a RBI double, capping a three-run inning for the Loons.
