Otters Battle Washington for First Place in East Division

(EVANSVILLE INDIANA) - The Evansville Otters (36-22) begin a three-game, two-night series against the first place Washington Wild Things (38-22) on Sunday night.

First pitch is set for 5:05 pm CDT at historic Bosse Field in Evansville Indiana. Fans can call 812-435-8686 to purchase tickets.

Fans not going to the game can listen live on WUEV 91.5 FM and WUEV.org . Play by play announcer Mike Radomski and color commentator Bill McKeon will have the call beginning at 4:45 pm CDT.

It is Otters Selfie Sunday.

Right-hander Taylor Dennis (1-1, 5.81 ERA) will start for Evansville against Washington righty Alex Kaminsky (2-4, 4.20 ERA).

The Otters are 42-55 all-time against the Wild Things but had a 4-2 record against Washington in 2013. This is the first of six meetings between the two teams this season.

Evansville enters this series after a 5-1 roadtrip, winning two of three at the Windy City Thunderbolts and then a three-game sweep at the Gateway Grizzlies.

The Otters won the series finale at Gateway 7-2 on Saturday night. RHP Trevor Walch (4-0) allowed two runs (none earned) in 8.0 innings. Evansville added four runs in the ninth to secure the sweep, their first three game sweep of the season.

The Otters had three players in the Frontier League All-Star game on July 16. 3B Shayne Houck started the contest going 2-for-2. Nik Balog pinch hit and played first base, going 0-for-1 with a walk. Josh Allen finished the night 0-for-2 as a defensive replacement and second baseman.

Outfielder John Schultz is on a seven game hitting streak. Infielder Phillip Wilson has hit safely in six straight games.

The Otters are 19-12 at home this season.
