Rain Forces Cancellation Of Wilmington's Season Finale With Carolina
July 24, 2014 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Wilmington Blue Rocks News Release
Zebulon, NC - Thursday night's game between the Wilmington Blue Rocks and the Carolina Mudcats has been cancelled due to rain. Because it was the final scheduled meeting between the two clubs this year, the contest will not be made up. It is the Blue Rocks' 13th rainout of the season and the team's third cancellation in 2014.
The Rocks return to action Friday night against the Winston-Salem Dash as they head home to Frawley Stadium. Southpaw Jonathan Dziedzic (5-5, 2.60), who was originally scheduled to pitch Thursday, will make his 18th start of the season for the Blue Rocks. The Dash will counter with righty Tony Bucciferro (7-9, 4.01). First pitch for the series opener is slated for 7:05 p.m., and fans can listen to the broadcast on 89.7 WGLS-FM.
