SPOKANE, Wash. (July 24, 2014) - The Spokane Shock (10-7) announced a host of roster moves on Thursday, two days before their regular season finale on the road against the Portland Thunder.

Assigned to the Shock are a trio of players including defensive lineman Brandon Paguese (5-11, 240), defensive back Sam Pope (5-10, 190), and quarterback Joe Southwick (6-2, 210).

Southwick spent four years playing for the Boise State Broncos, completing 69.4 percent of his passes for 4,784 yards and 31 touchdowns. His senior year in 2013, Southwick was the most accurate passer in the nation, completing 72.6 percent of his passes.

Paguese and Pope were placed on injured reserve on March 8 of 2014 and remained there throughout the season before being placed on reassignment exactly four months later on July 8.

Activated from inactive reserve was defensive back Bryant Nnabuife (6-2, 200). Nnabuife has appeared in 13 games for the Shock this year and is the team's fourth leading tackler with 48.0 tackles. He has also recorded five interceptions, seven passes defensed, and one forced fumble.

Patrick Afif (6-7, 315) and Mark Jackson (6-6, 340), a pair of offensive linemen, were placed on inactive reserve. Afif, a product of Washington State University, started 16 of the Shock's 17 games this season while Jackson had contributed six starts along the Shock offensive line.

Finally, defensive lineman Diyral Briggs (6-3, 240) and wide receiver Nicheren Flowers (6-2, 200) were placed on injured reserve.

Briggs appeared in 13 games for Spokane this year, including one start. He recorded 19.5 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one interception, and 2 fumble recoveries this season.

Flowers has been the Shock's fifth leading receiver this year, appearing in five games and recording 32 receptions for 301 yards and four touchdowns.

The Shock travel to Portland to face the Thunder in both team's regular season finale on Saturday, July 26 at 7:00 p.m. PDT. The game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet Northwest and heard on 700 ESPN Radio.
