New Britain Rock Cats News Release

New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, and presenting sponsor Stanley Black & Decker will be hosting a "House of Heroes Game" on Saturday, July 26 when the Rock Cats play the Red Sox affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs. The "Build Your America" pre-game ceremonies will feature 150 guests, including local veterans, who will help display a United States flag during the National Anthem. Stanley Black & Decker will be the title sponsor of the game.

To raise awareness for the local chapter of House of Heroes, Stanley will present a $50,000 check to the organization during pre-game ceremonies at the game. The Connecticut Chapter of House of Heroes and Stanley have a long history of working together to build homes for veterans whether through financial support or Stanley employees providing volunteer hours.

Continuing its commitment to make the tools that build America, the Stanley Black & Decker 2014 Build Your America Contest will award one charitable organization, non-profit organization or local government agency $10,000 towards a project such as neighborhood revitalization, historical landmark renovations, or school, park and recreation center improvements. Stanley Tools created the contest to help honor their hometown communities while showcasing its hand tools made in the USA with global materials.
