Robert Morey (W, 2-1) collected the win after surrendering four runs (all earned) on nine hits while walking a pair of batters and striking out one Baron in his six innings of work.

Jheyson Manzueta (SV, 2) earned the save after throwing three scoreless innings, only allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter in a rock solid Wednesday afternoon outing.

Angel Sanchez (L, 1-10) took the loss against his former team, giving up seven runs (four earned) on eight hits in four innings of work, walking one batter while striking out three.

The Suns pounced on their former teammate early, taking a 2-0 lead against Angel Sanchez and the Barons just three batters into the bottom of the first inning. After Austin Nola and Austin Barnes started the inning with singles, J.T. Realmuto drove them both in with a two-run double to give Jacksonville a 2-0 lead after the first inning.

Birmingham got one of those runs back a half inning later, using a Luis Sierra RBI to cut Jacksonville's lead to 2-1 in the top of the second inning.

Jacksonville pushed the lead back to two in the bottom of the third inning, with Austin Barnes (HR, 4) belting a solo shot to left to give the Suns a 3-1 lead. The homer was the fourth for Barnes in the last five days.

The Suns continued to hit Angel Sanchez hard, scoring four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Jacksonville used a leadoff homer from Ryan Rieger (HR, 1) and three consecutive two-out RBI hits from Austin Nola, Austin Barnes and J.T. Realmuto to open up a 7-1 lead after four innings of play.

Birmingham would get most of those runs back in the next half inning, scoring three times in the top of the fifth. The Barons got a RBI single from Jared Mitchell and a two-run single from Rangel Ravelo to cut it to a 7-4 lead after four and a half innings of play.

Alex Burg (HR, 6) led off the bottom of the next half inning with a homer to left-center to give the Suns an 8-4 advantage through five innings.

That score held until the bottom of the eighth, when Jacksonville pushed across its ninth run of the game. Brady Shoemaker dropped a two-out RBI single into right field to further the lead to 9-4 in favor of the Suns.

The Suns and Barons will be back at it on Thursday, with first pitch of game one set for 7:05 p.m. ET. The Suns will send out left-hander Justin Nicolino (8-3, 3.12) while the Barons will counter with right-hander Chris Beck (5-8, 3.61).
