Today's Game: The RedHawks continue their homestand and open a four-game series against the Round Rock Express at 7:05 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Tonight marks the first game between the teams since May 1.

Last Game: Back-to-back RBI singles with two outs in the eighth inning broke a tie and propelled the RedHawks to a 7-5 win Sunday against Nashville at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The RedHawks went in front 2-0 in the first on a RBI groundout by Marc Krauss and RBI double by Preston Tucker. A RBI single by Nashville's Kevin Mattison cut OKC's lead to 2-1 in the second. Austin Wates regained a two-run advantage for the RedHawks in the bottom of the inning with a RBI single. The Sounds cut into the RedHawks lead in the fifth on a RBI single by Eugenio Velez and tied the game on a bunt single by Irving Falu in the top of the seventh. A RBI single by Wates scored Carlos Perez to put the RedHawks in front, 4-3, in the seventh. Wates stole second, then scored on a single by Jonathan Villar for a 5-3 OKC lead. A two-run homer by Hector Gomez tied the game, 5-5, in the top of the eighth. Carlos Perez connected on a RBI single to break the tie in the bottom of the eighth with two outs. Jio Mier followed with a RBI single to give the RedHawks a 7-5 advantage. Paul Clemens (5-1) earned the win for the RedHawks. Kevin Chapman recorded his seventh save.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Mike Foltynewicz (7-6) looks for wins in back-to-back starts...Foltynewicz moved into a tie for the team lead with his seventh win of the season July 13 in Iowa. He held the I-Cubs to two runs (one earned) and three hits (all singles) over six innings. He walked one and struck out five...He leads the team with 16 starts, 92.2 innings, eight quality starts, and 89 strikeouts. He also ranks fourth among Astros minor leaguers in total strikeouts...In his five starts prior to his outing in Iowa, Foltynewicz had allowed 26 runs (23 earned) over 24.1 IP and opponents were batting .347. Before that, he had allowed just 14 runs in his previous 10 outings combined...During a streak of six straight quality starts May 5-June 7, Foltynewicz went 3-2 with a 2.35 ERA and held opponents to a .172 average. He also struck out 44 batters over 38.1 innings...He's recorded games of 12 and 10 strikeouts to become just the fourth pitcher in team history with multiple double-digit strikeout games in the same season...The RedHawks are 10-6 in his 16 starts and 12-7 in games he's pitched in...Foltynewicz has faced Round Rock twice this season and has held the Express scoreless and to just four hits over 7.1 innings, but has not recorded a decision.

Against the Express: 2014: 4-4 2013: 8-8 All-time: 80-71 In OKC: 39-37

The RedHawks and Express split each of their first two series of the season, including their most recent set in Oklahoma City April 28-May 1. The RedHawks won the first two games before the Express took the final two games of the low-scoring series, as the teams combined for just 17 runs. The teams also split their season-opening series in Round Rock April 3-6...Each team has scored 28 runs against the other...The RedHawks have limited Round Rock to a .205 batting average and have struck out at least seven Express hitters in each of their first eight meetings. They have 80 total strikeouts over 72.0 IP and have registered at least 10 K's in four times...Ronny Torreyes is 12-for-30 against Express pitching...The teams split their 16 meetings in 2013, with each team winning five of eight on the road...Round Rock has finished with winning records in Bricktown two of the last three seasons.

Terrific with Two Outs: Five of the RedHawks' seven runs and five of their 10 hits Sunday came with two outs, including the deciding back-to-back RBI singles in the eighth. They went 4-for-9 with runners in scoring position with two outs, well above their .230 average in those situations entering yesterday.

Heavy Wates: Over his last four games, Austin Wates is 8-for-16 with five RBI, three runs scored, and two stolen bases. He's reached base at least twice in five consecutive games and has reached base safely in 19 consecutive starts. In addition to leading the league with 27 stolen bases, his .408 on-base percentage ranks fifth in the PCL.

At the Drive-In: Jonathan Villar has 14 RBI over his first 11 games with the RedHawks, with five multi-RBI games. He is batting .571 (8x14) with runners in scoring position...Villar has also shown an increase in plate discipline, drawing four walks against one strikeout his past four games. Yesterday he drew two walks for the second time in his last eight games. He did not record a single multi-walk game in 71 contests with the Astros this season.

Perez Packing Punch: RedHawks catcher Carlos Perez brought home the go-ahead run Sunday to extend his season-best hitting streak to nine games (9-for-26). The streak is his longest since hitting safely in 10 straight games with the Low-A Lansing Lugnuts in 2012. Perez has also hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games and has 15 hits during the stretch (.366; 15x41), raising his season average by 31 points from .220 to .251

Double the Fun: The RedHawks turned one double play Sunday and have now recorded 16 double plays over the past eight games. They have recorded at least one double play in 10 straight games (18 total). OKC leads the league with 119 double plays this season.

Men of Steal: The RedHawks stole three bases Sunday - two by Jonathan Villar and one by Austin Wates - to bring their league-leading July total to 25 steals. Their 79 swipes overall this season rank fifth in the PCL.

Fear the Beard: Reliever Kevin Chapman has struck out seven of the last 10 batters he has faced and is now averaging 12.4 strikeouts per nine innings. He has allowed just one earned run since May 1, totaling 30 appearances and 29.1 IP.

Close Calls: 13 of the first 18 games this month have been decided by one or two runs, with the RedHawks going 6-7 in those contests. The RedHawks are 7-11 in July and have not won a game by more than three runs this month.
