Muncy Named Texas League Player of the Week

Max Muncy was named the Texas League's Player of the Week on Monday. From Monday, July 14th through Sunday, July 20th, the RockHounds first baseman drove in 16 runs, highlighted by a pair of grand slams on back-to-back nights in Corpus Christi.

Muncy also walked 10 times and posted a .606 on base percentage for the week.

Muncy was selected in the 5th round of the 2012 draft out of Baylor University (Freshman All-American in 2010 and an All-Big 12 selection in 2011 and 2012). This is his third professional season and only his second full season in the A's organization.

The RockHounds start a four game series with the Frisco RoughRiders on Monday evening at Security Bank Ballpark. As the second have nears the halfway point, the RockHounds are in first place with a 3.5 game lead on Corpus Christi. Tickets are still available for this week's games.
