Norfolk Tides News Release

Norfolk, VA - Christian Walker had three hits and five different Norfolk pitchers held Rochester to two runs as the Tides topped the Red Wings 4-2 in front of 8,136 fans Saturday night at Harbor Park.

Playing in just his third game after a promotion from Double-A Bowie, Walker had two singles, a double and a walk to help power the Tides to their sixth consecutive victory. Walker's two-run single in the seventh inning helped extend Norfolk's lead to 4-0 and gave the 23-year-old 79 runs batted in this season - most among O's minor leaguers.

Tides starter Suk-min Yoon was impressive in his first start off of the disabled list, as he tossed 3.1 shutout innings. Making his first start since June 21 due to a right shoulder strain, Yoon yielded two hits and a walk while striking out one as he threw 25 of his 42 pitches for strikes.

Nick Additon (5-5) followed Yoon and earned the win after allowing just one hit over 3.1 shutout innings of relief. Additon walked one and struck out two to help Norfolk improve its record to 11-1 over its last 12 home contests.

After Rochester plated two runs in the eighth inning to pull within 4-2, Evan Meek recorded the final four outs to register his sixth save of the season. Meek has now not allowed a run in 15 of his last 16 relief appearances with the Tides.

The two clubs will wrap up their season series on Sunday night at Harbor Park, with first pitch slated for 6:05. Mike Wright (1-8, 6.15) will make the start for Norfolk against Red Wings southpaw Logan Darnell (4-5, 3.48).
