Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The IronPigs (46-52) play the first set of back-to-back doubleheaders in a two-day, four-game series at NBT Bank Stadium against the first-place Syracuse Chiefs (59-39) -- owners of the best record in all Triple-A by 2.5 games over Sacramento (57-42) of the PCL... With a 10-2 loss last night, the Pigs have dropped back-to-back games as well as seven of their last 10 affairs. In addition, Lehigh Valley has gone just 17-27 since May 30 -- falling from second place and 0.5 GB in the North to fifth place and a season-high 13.0 GB... Syracuse -- Washington's top affiliate -- has won back-to-back games as well as eight of its last 11 contests. The Chiefs started to take command of the North Division on May 19, as they've gone 38-17 since then after starting the season 21-22. Their lead of 6.0 in the North Division ties their largest advantage of the season (June 25) and they've held at least a share of first place since June 4.
Game 1: RHP Brad Lincoln (4-5, 4.40) will start for LHV against RHP Josh Roenicke (4-4, 5.00).
Game 2: RHP Hector Neris (3-2, 6.03) will make a spot-start for LHV against RHP Neil Holland (1-0, 1.59).
First-Pitch of Game 1 is at 5 p.m.
