Your Cedar Rapids Kernels return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, July 16th for a six-game home stand with games against Lake County and Fort Wayne. Here's a preview of what you can expect these next six games:

July 16-18 vs. Lake County

The Kernels host the Lake County Captains, the Midwest League affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, in a three game series starting Wednesday, July 16th.

You'll want to be here when the gates open at 5:30 pm as First Federal Credit Union will be giving $500 out at the main gates as part of Free Money Wednesday. First Federal Credit Union is giving out $500 at the main gates every Wednesday home game with the top cash prize of $100. It's also KCRG Weather Academy Night. The KCRG First Alert Weather Team will be here for the game with the Mobile Weather Lab with interactive displays showing how and why the weather works. They will be signing people up to win one of nine weather radios that will be given out during the game. First pitch between the Kernels and Captains is set for 6:35 pm.

The Kernels have a special treat lined up on Thursday, July 17th as the U.S. Air Force Honor Drill Team will be here for a 10 minute performance on the field starting at 6:00 pm. It's also a Z 102.9 Thirsty Thursday and Little Caesar's College Night. Get 12 oz. regular draft beer or 20 oz. bottled soda and water for just $2, plus get $1 off margaritas at the Hacienda Las Glorias / La Cantina Mexican Cart. Fans that show their college ID at the Kernels Ticket Office can get a Club ticket and two slices of Little Caesar's pizza for just $7. Gates open at 5:30 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Lake County is set for 6:35 pm.

A BIG night is on tap for Friday, July 18th when the Kernels take on Lake County at 6:35 pm. First, it's Duck Dynasty Theme Night - come dressed as your favorite Duck Dynasty character as the first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a free Kernels Commander Tea Cup. The first 1,500 fans through the gates receive a free Kernels 2014 Team Photo, thanks to Wells Fargo and Copyworks. The Kernels will be wearing special Camo jerseys during the game as part of ALS Night. These jerseys will be sold during the game via a silent auction with the proceeds to benefit the ALS Association Iowa Chapter and these jerseys also feature a special 75th anniversary Lou Gehrig patch on the sleeve. Finally, it's a 98.1 KHAK Kernels Friday Mug Club. Buy a 16 oz. souvenir mug for $6 and get it filled with regular draft beer or soda at the concessions stands with refills just $3. Bring your mug back every Friday home game for $3 refills. Gates open at 5:30 pm.

July 19-21 vs. Fort Wayne

The Kernels host the Fort Wayne Tin Caps, the Midwest League affiliate of the San Diego Padres, in a three game series starting Saturday, July 19th.

The Kernels have partnered with Clark & Associates to sponsor ADA Night at the Ballpark on Saturday, July 19th as we celebrate those individuals that enjoy a better life thanks to the Americans with Disabilities Act. The game will be broadcast LIVE by KCRG 9.2 and after the game, stick around for a concert by JIF and the Choosy Mothers, followed by FIREWORKS at dusk. Fireworks nights are VERY popular, so contact the Kernels Ticket Office at 896-7560, or order tickets on-line at www.kernels.com to get the best seats. Gates open at 4:00 pm with first pitch between the Kernels and Fort Wayne set for 5:05 pm.

Race fans, you'll want to be here on Sunday, July 20th as Great Clips Racing will have the #5 NASCAR Chevrolet, driven by Kasey Kahne, and the #9 World of Outlaws car, driven by Daryn Pittman, on display at the game. It's a Planet X Run the Bases Sunday, with media sponsor 104.5 KDAT. Fans can run the bases, play catch in the outfield and get autographs from the Kernels players on the field after the game. During the game, enjoy Papa Balloon, Face Painting by Kennedy, caricature artist Allison Bennett and Magician Jackson Green on the concourse. World-class Juggler Doug Sayers will be on hand to entertain fans during the game. Play Travel Advisors Baseball Bingo for a chance to win a trip to Minneapolis and see a Twins game during the 2014 season. Gates open at 1:00 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Tin Caps is set for 2:05 pm.

The home stand concludes on Monday, July 21st with our final noon game of the season, presented by 104.5 KDAT. Take a break from the office for some Kernels baseball, played under warm, summer skies. It's also Dollar Monday where regular hot dogs, popcorn, chips, ice cream sandwiches and Cracker Jack are each just $1 every Monday home Kernels game. Plus, get $1 taquitos at the Hacienda Las Glorias / La Cantina Mexican Cart. Gates open at 11 am and first pitch between the Kernels and Fort Wayne is set for 12:05 pm.

Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium Daily Specials!

Run the Bases Sunday, sponsored by Planet X: After every Sunday home game, kids (and adults) can run the bases, play catch on the field and get autographs from the Kernels, sponsored by Planet X with media sponsor 104.5 KDAT. During the game, play Travel Advisors Baseball Bingo, co-sponsored by the Radisson near Mall of America for a chance to win a trip to Minneapolis and see a Twins game. Enjoy the balloon artistry of Papa Balloon on the concourse and face painting by Kennedy. Magician Jackson Green will entertain at Sunday home games.

Twins Tuesday, sponsored by Great Clips: Get an on-line coupon from the Kernels Facebook page or email newsletter for a 2 for 1 ticket offer at Tuesday home games as part of Twins Tuesday, presented by Great Clips. The Kernels will wear special jerseys and one lucky fan will win a pair of Minnesota Twins tickets given away at every Tuesday home game.

The Kernels Ticket Office is open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. The ticket office is closed on Sunday, but opens at 11 am on Kernel Sunday Home games.
