Smokies Announce 2015 Game Schedule

KODAK - In conjunction with the Southern League, the Tennessee Smokies have announced their 2015 regular season game schedule, with next year's campaign opening on the road against the Mississippi Braves before starting their 2015 home slate against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on Wednesday, April 15.

The team will play a total of 70 contests at Smokies Stadium as part of a 140-game Southern League schedule, lasting 152 days between their first contest on Thursday, April 9 in Pearl, Mississippi, and their last on September 7 in Biloxi, Mississippi. The home schedule includes ten games in April, 15 in May, 11 in June, 13 in July, 19 in August and one in September. The 2015 All-Star Break will take place between June 22-24, with the Montgomery Biscuits playing host to the mid-summer classic on June 23 at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Alabama.

Tennessee is scheduled to face off against the new Southern League franchise to be located in Biloxi, Mississippi, on ten occasions in 2015, including a five-game series at Smokies Stadium July 9-13, as well as in Biloxi for the final series of the season between September 3-7. The club, whose name has not yet been announced, came to life after the Huntsville Stars, the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers were purchased prior to the 2014 season.

As a result of the Biloxi team playing in the South Division next season, Montgomery will move to the North Division for the 2015 campaign. The Smokies will face their newest division rival on 28 occasions next season, including five-game series between May 11-15, as well as August 18-22. Tennessee will also host the Biscuits for a three game series from July 1-3.

The Smokies will also square off with their North Division rival Chattanooga Lookouts 25 times in 2015, starting with a five-game homestand April 25-29, in addition to a two-game series June 4-5 as part of a five-game road/home series, along with a three-game set between July 24-26 at Smokies Stadium. The two will also meet at AT&T Field in Chattanooga June 1-3, July 22-23, August 12-16 and August 23-27.

Kodak will play host to a pair of ten-game homestands in 2015, with the first consisting of five-game series with the Biscuits and Jackson Generals from May 11-20, while the club will also host the Birmingham Barons, as well as the Generals once again between August 2-11. The club will also travel on a ten-game road trip once next season, visiting the Birmingham Barons and Pensacola Blue Wahoos between April 30-May 9.
