Evansville Otters News Release

(SAUGET, ILLINOIS) - After health concerns forced Washington and East division all-star manager Bart Zeller to resign on Sunday, Evansville Otters manager Andy McCauley will be at the helm for the Wednesday game.

McCauley's Otters were tied with Washington for first place in the East entering Sunday's action.

Joining McCauley on the staff for the East will be Evansville pitching coach Max Peterson, Frontier Greys manager Kyle Haines and Southern Illinois bench coach Ralph Santana.

McCauley previously led the East in the 1999 All-Star Game, when he was in the same position with the London Werewolves.

Santana has been a part of past All-Star Games as well, playing in the 2007 game and working on the coaching staff for the 2008 and 2010 games.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to manage the East All-Stars and to see the top talent all on the same field," McCauley said, "I'm also looking forward to working with the staff of Max, Ralph and Kyle."

The festivities surrounding this year's event include the induction of the inaugural class of Frontier League Hall of Famers, a home run derby, a Battle of the Sexes against the Chicago Bandits of National Professional Fastpitch and more. Tickets for each event can be purchased at www.gatewaygrizzlies.com or by calling the Gateway offices at (618) 337-3000.

The Frontier League is entering its 22nd season in 2014 and features 14 teams stretching from Pennsylvania to Missouri and from Kentucky to northern Michigan. The Frontier League annually advances the most players to MLB organizations of any of the independent leagues, and 26 former Frontier League players have played in the Major Leagues.

Evansville will return at home on Friday, July 18 to begin a three-game series against the Southern Illinois Miners at Bosse Field. Fans can call 812-435-8686 for tickets.
