Greensboro Doubles up Power 6-3

(Charleston, WV- July 13, 2014)- The West Virginia Power fell to the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Sunday afternoon at Appalachian Power Park 6-3. The Grasshoppers scored three in the first and never looked back as West Virginia and Greensboro split the series.

The Grasshoppers jumped out to the early advantage with three runs in the first behind an RBI double off the bat of Juan Avila.

West Virginia cut into the Greensboro lead with a pair in the bottom of the second keyed by a Reese McGuire RBI two-bagger.

Greensboro, however, was not done just yet. The 'Hoppers pulled away with two more tallies in the seventh with an RBI base knock from Carlos Lopez.

Dovydas Neverauskas (4-8) was charged with the loss while Cody Crabaugh (2-1) earned the win. Edwin Espinal smashed a pair of doubles in the Power loss and JaCoby Jones extended his hit streak to 15 games.

West Virginia visits the Hagerstown Suns on Tuesday, July 15, at Appalachian Power Park. Justin Topa will start against the Grasshoppers Cody Crabaugh.
