Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Delmarva used a six-run 5th inning to come back and top the BlueClaws 9-2 on Saturday night at FirstEnergy Park. Lakewood led 2-0 before the Shorebirds scored six times, five charged to starter Ranfi Casimiro, in coming back to win game three of the four-game series.

Delmarva (13-11/51-42) has now won two of the first three games in the series and they have won 12 of 18 against Lakewood (8-16/35-58) this year.

Trailing 2-0, after Casimiro gave up just one hit over four scoreless innings, Delmarva tied the game on a two-run single by Anthony Caronia and took the lead on an RBI double by Gregory Lorenzo. Casimiro came out and Scott Harris allowed a two-run double to Drew Dosch and an RBI single by Chance Sisco.

Five of the runs were charged to Casimiro (2-9), who allowed five runs in 4.1 innings of work. Harris was charged with three runs in two innings of relief, the others scoring in a three-run seventh inning, with the third coming against Aaron Baker.

Carlos Tocci, who had four hits on Friday, had three on Saturday including an RBI double. Mitch Walding also had two hits for the BlueClaws, his second straight two-hit game.

Andrew Knapp went 0-4 and his 15-game hitting streak was snapped.

At 35-58, the BlueClaws are now 23-games under .500, matching their low-water mark of the year.

The series concludes on Sunday at 5:05. Lakewood RHP Tyler Viza (3-12) opposes Delmarva LHP Mitch Horacek (4-8, 3.25).
