Sanchez Dominant in 7-1 Win over Barons

Birmingham, AL - The Birmingham Barons dropped game thee of their five game series against the Jackson Generals by a score of 7-1 in front of 4,209 fans at Generals Park.
Jackson built a 4-0 lead against starter Chris Beck (4-8, 3.73) through six innings en route to their second-straight win. Kevin Rivers started the scoring with an RBI double in the second inning. Ketel Marte's RBIsingle and a sacrifice fly by Dario Pizzano extended the lead to 3-0 in the fifth.
Dan Black provided the lone run of the game with a solo home run against starter Victor Sanchez (5-4, 3.79) in the seventh inning. The hit was one of three for the Barons in the game as Sanchez struck out nine over 8.0 innings while picking up the win.
With the loss, the Barons fell to 41-51 and 12-10 in the second half while the Generals improved to 40-52 and 9-14 in the second half. The Barons will look to rebound tomorrow night as RHP Myles Jaye (1-7, 6.19) looks for his second win in a row. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 PM CDT.
