Houston Dynamo FC News Release

HOUSTON (Saturday, July 12, 2014) - The Houston Dynamo face Toronto FC at 6 p.m. CT tonight at BMO Field in Toronto. Tonight is the first of back-to-back games between the clubs, as the Dynamo host Toronto FC next Saturday at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Tonight's game will be broadcast live on CSN Houston Plus (5:30 p.m. CT pregame show) and on tape delay on Telemundo Houston (11 p.m.). The game can be heard on Yahoo Sports Radio 1560 AM and 850 AM (Spanish).

The Dynamo are 5-10-3 (18 points) and tied for seventh place in the Eastern Conference. Houston played to a 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls last Friday as Giles Barnes scored 40 seconds into the game for the fastest regular-season goal in club history. Brad Davis converted a late penalty kick for the equalizer and his seventh consecutive MLS appearance with a goal or an assist.

Toronto FC 6-5-3 (21 points) is in fourth place in the East after falling to D.C. United, 2-1, at home last Saturday despite a goal from Luke Moore.

The Dynamo midfield trio of Ricardo Clark, Boniek Garcia and Davis started against New York, marking the first time all three were in the starting lineup since April 5.

Toronto FC features English international forward Jermain Defoe and U.S. national team midfielder Michael Bradley after the pair signed with the club last winter. Defoe has 55 caps and 19 goals for the England national team and spent over a decade in the English Premier League with Tottenham, Portsmouth and West Ham. Bradley, 26, started all four games for the U.S. at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and has made 90 career appearances for the U.S.

TFC also features Dwayne De Rosario, who won MLS Cups with the Dynamo in 2006 and 2007 and is sixth on the MLS all-time scoring list with 103 goals.

Houston and Toronto have played to three consecutive draws, including both games last year. Last April, the Dynamo gained a 1-1 tie at BMO Field after Warren Creavalle scored the equalizer four minutes into stoppage time.

Following tonight's game, the Dynamo host Toronto FC on Saturday, June 19 at BBVA Compass Stadium. The Eastern Conference rivals meet again on Oct. 8 in Toronto.
