Subban, Elie in NHL Development Camps

July 9, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Belleville Bulls News Release

While teammates Jake Marchment and Stephen Harper are in the sunshine state attending Development Camp with the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, Remi Elie and Jordan Subban are getting some NHL exposure of their own.

The two 2013 draftees are skating with their respective clubs as Elie is with the Dallas Stars and Subban with the Vancouver Canucks.

Elie, who was acquired in a trade with the London Knights last October, was a second round pick by Dallas and turned heads after coming to Belleville with 28 goals and 37 assists in 61 games as a Bull. The native of Green Valley is skating with the Stars at their Development Camp in Frisco, Texas alongside fellow prospects and OHL'ers Jason Dickinson and Gemel Smith. The Stars boast a bright future after their American Hockey League affiliate, the Texas Stars, won the 2014 Calder Cup Championship.

Subban is in the pacific northwest with the Canucks alongside former Bulls teammate and Vancouver first round draft pick Brendan Gaunce. The fleet-footed Subban had 12 goals and 30 assists in 66 games during his third OHL season. He was a fourth round pick of Vancouver in 2013. Subban enters camp in Vancouver under a new General Manager and Head Coach tandem this season as newly appointed Canucks GM Jim Benning is now pulling the strings with Willie Desjardins, a 2014 Calder Cup Champion and longtime WHL bench boss at the helm.

The Bulls currently have three players on their roster that are NHL property with Elie, Subban and the recently drafted Jake Marchment rounding out the selections. The Bulls recently took Boston Bruins first round selection David Pastrnak tenth overall in the 2014 CHL Import Draft.
