FC Edmonton News Release

EDMONTON, AB (July 9, 2014) FC Edmonton announce today the signing of central midfielder Cristian Raudales. As per club policy, contract details are not disclosed.

"I'm very excited to sign with FC Edmonton," said Raudales after his first official training session as an Eddie. "Since the first day, everyone has made me feel so welcome and comfortable. We played well together in preseason, so hopefully I can keep that going and get another win this weekend."

Raudales played his college soccer at Florida Gulf Coast University. When he graduated in 2011, he left the program as the all-time leader in points (43) and also goals scored (19). From University, Raudales left for Germany and played in the German fourth division for BSV Rehden, where he played for just over a year. Born in Honduras, since returning to North America he has recently obtained his American citizenship.

Raudales joined FC Edmonton in the July preseason while the team trained in Victoria. He played two preseason matches with the Eddies and scored once in the final preseason match against Seattle Sounders FC.

"We're really happy about the signing of Cristian," said FC Edmonton head coach Colin Miller. "We've welcomed him into the family and he's proven since day one that he has some terrific qualities and will be a great signing for us."

FC Edmonton fans will have a chance to see Raudales in action on Sunday, July 13 when FC Edmonton plays Ottawa Fury FC. The match, presented by West Edmonton Mall, will be played at Commonwealth Stadium to accommodate a delay in the Clarke field turf installation. Tickets start at just $10 in the YMCA Family Fun Zone and are available at all Edmonton YMCA locations. All other tickets can be purchased at www.fcedmonton.com or by calling 780.700.2600.
