Columbia Blowfish Win 6-3 over Wilmington Sharks

COLUMBIA, SC - The Columbia Blowfish (14-19) keep the win streak alive as they beat the Wilmington Sharks (16-18) 6-3 at Historical Capitol City Stadium.

Kyle Martin (South Carolina) started his Blowfish debut off with a bang as he went 2-4 at the plate and had 2 RBIs in the Blowfish win.

Trevor Bradley (Francis Marion) was great both at the plate and in the field, as he went 1-3 at the plate with a solo homerun to left field, and he finished the game on the mound picking up his second save of the season.

Josh Reagan (South Carolina) picked up the win as he had another strong outing going 5.1 innings pitched, allowing 1 earned run, off 3 hits, while striking out 6 on 93 pitches.

The Wilmington Sharks offense was propelled by Joseph Devito (Fordham), who went 3-4 at the plate.

The Sharks starting pitcher Jonathan Olczack (N.C. State) also had a strong outing going 6 innings, giving up 5 earned runs off of 7 hits.

The Columbia Blowfish next game is tomorrow night against the Florence RedWolves, First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.

The Coastal Plain League is the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 18th season in 2014, the CPL proudly features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. The CPL gives college players a chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,100 alumni drafted and 65 alums - including 2011AL MVP and CY Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
