RENO, Nev. - The River Cats scored four runs in three different innings en-route to a 14-7 victory over the Reno Aces on Sunday evening at Aces Ballpark, increasing Sacramento's lead in the division to 3.5 games.

The River Cats jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the top of the first when Shane Peterson doubled-home two runs before Anthony Aliotti and Jose Martinez each picked up an RBI. After each team scored once in the second, the River Cats scored four more times in the top of the third, highlighted by a two-run Ryan Ortiz triple and an RBI-double from Andy Parrino.

Reno scored one run in each of the third and fourth innings before the River Cats tacked on four more runs in the top of the fifth on a Parrino sacrifice fly, a Josh Whitaker two-run double, and an RBI-single from Peterson. Reno responded with four runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth, making the score 13-7. Sacramento tacked on a run in the seventh before the bullpen closed out the 14-7 victory over their division rival on Sunday evening at Aces Ballpark.

Parrino went 2-for-4 with a run, two RBI, and a double, Whitaker finished 2-for-4 with two runs, three RBI, and a double, and Ortiz finished 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, a walk, and a triple. The win was awarded to Phil Humber, who tossed one scoreless inning of relief. Starter Drew Granier-making his Triple-A debut-gave up all seven Aces runs on 12 hits and zero walks with one strikeout in four innings for a no-decision. Fernando Rodriguez and Jeremy McBryde combined for four shutout innings with two hits, two walks, and two strikeouts combined, lowering their team ERA to 4.71.

The loss was charged to Lucas Harrell, who gave up nine earned runs on eight hits and four walks with one strikeout in just 2.2 innings of work. Infielder Danny Dorn went 4-for-5 with a run, an RBI, a double, and a triple.

The River Cats how travel to Fresno to take on the Grizzlies in a four-game set that will begin at 7:05 p.m. on Monday at Chukchansi Park when Sacramento righty Matt Buschmann (5-4, 4.48 ERA) takes on Fresno righty Chris Heston (7-3, 3.49 ERA).

Sacramento returns home on Friday, July 11, at 7:05 p.m. when the Aces visit Raley Field for the first time this season in a three-game set that ends just before the 2014 All-Star break.
