July 4, 2014 - New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)
Vermont Mountaineers News Release

Montpelier, Vt. - Tonight's New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) game between the Vermont Mountaineers and the North Adams SteepleCats has been postponed due to inclement weather in the North Adams area. No make-up date has been announced.

The rain has persisted into Friday at North Adams, making the conditions unplayable.

After three days off (one scheduled), the /mountaineers return to action on Saturday, July 5, when they host the Laconia Muskrats for an NECBL meeting at Recreation Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The game can be heard locally on CBS Sports 1240 WSKI and online at thevermontmountaineers.com. CE Wendal Electric will sponsor Seinfeld night at the ballpark, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the sitcom. A drawing will be held for a signed Robin Roberts jersey, and baseball legend Jim Kaat will be in attendance to throw out the first pitch.

The Mountaineers will also play at home on Sunday night, when they take on the Mystic Schooners in a North-South matchup at 6:30. The National Life Group and The Times Argus sponsor family fun night at Recreation Field. Children under the age of 12 will receive free admission to the game.
