The Winnipeg Jets today announced they have agreed to terms with goaltender Michael Hutchinson on a two-year contract worth $1.15 million.

Hutchinson, 24, played in three games with the Winnipeg Jets last season, including his NHL debut on Apr. 7/14 vs. Minnesota. In that time, he recorded a 2-1-0 record, 1.64 goals against average and 0.943 save percentage. The Barrie, ON native became the second goalie in 2013-14 to record a win in the ECHL, AHL & NHL in the same season. He suited up for 24 games with the IceCaps for a 17-5-1 record, 2.30 goals against average and 0.923 save percentage. He also backstopped St. John's IceCaps to separate six-game (Jan. 24/14-Feb. 1/14) and eight-game (Feb. 18/14-Mar. 12/14) winning streaks. He then played 21 games (12-9) with a 1.95 goals against average and .938 save percentage during the club's post-season run to the Calder Cup Final.

Hutchinson earned ECHL Goaltender of the Month for November and twice won ECHL Goaltender of the Week (ending Nov. 17/13 & Jan. 5/14). He was originally drafted by the Boston Bruins in the third round, 77th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft.
