Adams Takes Home Player of the Month

SPRINGDALE, Ark. - Naturals' center fielder Lane Adams earned Texas League Player of the Month honors for June, Texas League President Tom Kayser announced yesterday. Adams hit .313 during the month with 7 home runs, 6 stolen bases and 18 RBI.
Adams earned Texas League Player of the Week to close out June, and the honors kept coming one day later. Greatly aided by a .476 average during the final week, Adams has not gone hitless in a game since June 21 as he is currently riding a seven game hitting streak. In addition, he only went hitless in six games throughout all of June, while notching 11 multi-hit games. On top of that, Adams has recorded an extra base hit in his last six games, including five doubles one triple and three home runs in that stretch.
Adams went through similar stretches last year where he posed great problems for opposing Texas League pitchers. Adams hit .333 with 3 home runs, 10 RBI and 4 stolen bases during a five game stretch in mid-July last season. He then followed July by mashing four home runs with 22 RBI and 13 stolen bases in August.
The Naturals return home tonight for a six game homestand starting with three against the Midland RockHounds and then the Frisco RoughRiders come to town, as part of "The Great American Blast" on July 3-5 including the three biggest Fireworks Spectaculars in all of Northwest Arkansas.
