Grand Rapids Griffins News Release

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday signed goaltender Petr Mrazek to a one-year contract extension for the 2015-16 season.

Mrazek, 22, ranked second among AHL goaltenders with a 2.10 goals against average during the 2013-14 regular season, while owning a 22-9-1 record through 32 games. The 6-foot-1, 187-pound netminder also earned three shutouts, a 4-1 shootout record and a 0.924 save percentage, garnering him a spot on the AHL's Second All-Star Team. In addition, Mrazek posted both an eight-game winning streak from Feb. 22-March 22 and a 10-game winning streak from Oct. 30-Feb. 1. After appearing in all 24 postseason games and backstopping the Griffins to their first-ever Calder Cup championship in 2013, Mrazek saw action in all 10 of Grand Rapids' 2014 playoff games and earned a 5-5 record alongside a 2.80 GAA and a 0.911 save percentage.

The Ostrava, Czech Republic, native also appeared in nine games with the Wings last season and produced a 2-4-0 record, a 1.74 GAA, a 0.927 save percentage and two shutouts. Mrazek was Detroit's fifth choice (141st overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Group tickets for eight guaranteed home dates at Van Andel Arena are now on sale along with 2014-15 season ticket packages. Single-game tickets will go on sale to the public in September.
