Norfolk Tides (33-51) @ Rochester Red Wings (45-38) - Frontier Field, Rochester, NY

LHP Nick Additon (3-3, 4.21) vs. LHP Scott Diamond (3-7, 7.03)

TONIGHT'S GAME: The Red Wings and Norfolk Tides (Orioles) play Game 3 of their four-game series tonight (7:05) at Frontier Field after the Wings evened the set at a game apiece on Sunday. Despite the win, the Wings are still just 9-12 over their last 21 games after a 26-game stretch (5/13-6/7) in which they went 20-6 . Rochester remains 5.0 GB of Syracuse in the IL North but still holds a slim 1.0-game lead over Columbus in the Wild Card standings. Norfolk, who owns the worst record in the league along with Charlotte, are only 7-16 over their last 23 games.

- This series matches the team with the highest ERA in the IL (NOR, 4.88) vs. the team with the lowest (ROC, 3.23).

- The Wings have won 13 of their last 18 games against Norfolk over the last 2+ seasons.

-Diamond is 3-1, 1.41 ERA (5 ER/32.0 IP) in 4 career GS vs. NOR -- including two, 9-inning CG-SHO on 8/30/10 with Gwinnett and 8/11/13 with Rochester.

WITH A WIN TODAY, THE WINGS WILL...:

- Win back-to-back games for the first time since June 10 @ GWN & June 12 vs. LHV...The Wings haven't won on consecutive days since June 6 @ CHA and June 7 @ GWN.

- Finish the month of June with a winning record (16-14)... The Wings haven't had 3 consecutive winning months in the same season since 2006.

DARNELL DAZZLES: Southpaw Logan Darnell turned in his second career complete-game shutout on Sunday (9 IP, 9 H, R/ER, HR, BB, 3 SO) and his first since June 20, 2013 in his last start at Double-A New Britain. Darnell hadn't even completed 7.0 innings in a start this season prior to Sunday when he needed just 106 pitches (72 strikes) to finish off the Tides. Darnell joins Yohan Pino as the only two Wings to throw 9-inning CG's this season as Rochester does lead the IL with 6 CG on the year.

- Prior to Sunday's start, Darnell had posted a 5.23 ERA (12 ER/20.2 IP) over his last 4 starts with 17 walks in 20.2 IP.

MORE ABOUT YESTERDAY...:

- The Wings turned a season-high 4 double plays behind Darnell -- the first time ROC turned 4 DP's in a game since 8/2/13 @ LHV...ROC has now turned 7 double plays over their last 2 games.

BRILLIANT BULLPEN: After 7 innings of relief work Saturday, in which the bullpen allowed just 3 hits (all soft singles), no walks and one unearned run, the unit's ERA over the last 9 games has dipped to 1.71 (5 ER/26.1 IP). Over this 9-game stretch, the bullpen has allowed just 15 hits (5 for XBH) and only 4 walks in 26 1/3 innings . In fact, the bullpen hasn't issued a walk over their last 13 innings pitched. The relief corps has been a strength of the team all season long as they hold a 2.80 season ERA. Of the six relievers on the Wings current roster who have spent the majority of the season here (at least 16 appearances), four have an ERA of 2.41 or lower and four have a BAA of .220 or lower .

GIVING UP THE LONG BALL: Wings starters have allowed a home run in 8 of the last 10 games and 23 total in 29 June games . The rotation had allowed just 13 over the first two months of the season (54 games). Each starter has allowed at least 3 HR in the month - with the exception of Trevor May who has allowed 2 HR. LHP Kris Johnson, RHP Alex Meyer & LHP Logan Darnell have each surrendered 4 HR this month -- the trio had yielded just 7 combined over the first 2 months.

BEST SUPPORTING ACHTER: Wings RHP A.J. Achter (2-2, 1.60) turned in 3 perfect innings of relief on Saturday. Achter has the lowest BAA at .124 (16-129) among IL relievers -- including holding LHH's to just 5 hits in 55 AB's (.091). He also has allowed the fewest base runners per 9 IP among all league relievers (6.64) . Achter has allowed just 2 runs over his last 20.1 innings (0.89 ERA) -- spanning 11 games over which he's allowed 6 hits, 9 walks w/ 21 strikeouts. He's also stranded all 18 of 21 runners he's inherited this season and is a perfect 4-for-4 in save chances.

- Over first 38 Triple-A games, opposing hitters are batting just .153 (33-215) off Achter.

EXCELLENT EDGAR: After two more scoreless innings on Saturday, Wings reliever Edgar Ibarra extended his season-high scoreless streak to 15 1/3 innings dating back to his last inning of work on May 29 vs. SYR . Over the streak - which has spanned 8+ games - Ibarra has yielded 10 hits and 4 walks with 12 strikeouts. The 15 1/3 innings is the 4th longest scoreless streak by a Red Wings pitcher this season and the longest by a Wings reliever since Anthony Slama's 17.0-inning streak in 2012 (4/17-5/30). Prior to this streak, Ibarra had allowed at least 1 run in 8 of his first 14 outings this year.

- EI's 14 1/3-inning scoreless streak last year w/ ROC was the longest by a ROC reliever in '13
