Prince Albert, SK- Prince Albert Raiders defenseman Mackenze Stewart was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the 7th round, 186th overall at the 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft in Philadelphia.
The 6'5, 237-pound Calgary, Alberta product has played portions of two seasons with the green and gold netting 5 goals and 4 assists. His size and toughness have been a great asset for the Raiders; Mackenze played 55 games in the 2013-14 season with the club and had 69 penalty minutes and a minus 7 rating.
Mackenze becomes the 84th player in Raider history to be drafted to the NHL and joins teammate Leon Draisaitl (3rd overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft Class.
