Augusta GreenJackets News Release

Augusta, GA--The Augusta GreenJackets (34-38) lost to the Asheville Tourists (45-28) on Sunday afternoon, at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The final score was 1-0. Asheville had three shutouts against the GreenJackets in the four game series.

The lone run of the game was recorded in the fifth inning. The Tourists, designated hitter, Michael Benjamin began the inning with a double to left field. After Ramiel Tapia was hit by a pitch, Benjamin stole third and scored on a throwing error by Ty Ross.

GreenJackets starting pitcher, Luis Ysla (4-5), pitched an interesting game. Over seven innings, he gave up four hits, one run, walked six, and struck out nine. However, he hit two batters throughout those seven innings; Ramiel Tapia was hit twice. The second time Tapia was hit, both benches cleared. Nothing escalated beyond words being exchanged between teams.
