Aces Acquire All-Star Forward C.J. Severyn from Orlando

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, three-time Kelly Cup champions, announced today that the team has acquired forward C.J. Severyn from the Orlando Solar Bears to complete a transaction on Sept. 5, 2013 when the Aces acquired future considerations from Orlando in exchange for forward Zach Harrison.

Severyn, 25, earned 11 goals, 34 points and 100 penalty minutes in 43 games in 2013-14 with Orlando, also skating in six American Hockey League games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Utica.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward earned career-highs in goals (22), points (44) and penalty minutes (108) in 62 games with Orlando in 2012-13, when he was named to the ECHL All-Star team. That season, he finished second on Orlando in goals and was third in scoring.

Severyn has skated in 153 career ECHL games and collected 93 points (38g-55a) and 323 penalty minutes with Orlando and Utah while suiting up in 12 career AHL games with Charlotte, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Utica.

The Beaver, Pa. native was selected by the Calgary Flames in the seventh round (186th overall) of the 2007 National Hockey League Entry Draft and posted 41 points and 139 penalty minutes in 140 career college games with Ohio State University (NCAA).
