Sundogs Bury Staff in Ticket Initiative

June 13, 2014 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Arizona Sundogs News Release

Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs are back at it this summer and are burying members of their ownership and management staff in an effort, to once again sell 300 new season tickets. Last summer the Sundogs went viral after spending six days in a scissor lift hoisted above the town of Prescott Valley. Their unusual stunt caught the attention of numerous media sources across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, bringing attention to their AA minor-league professional ice hockey team in the Central Hockey League (CHL).

This year instead of taking to the sky the Sundogs will go underground as they once again make the sacrifice to call a confined space, home for the duration of their ticket campaign. Courtesy of Patriot Disposal and FANN Contracting, majority owner, Brad Fain and Sundogs General Manager, Chris Presson will be buried alive in a 22-foot commercial dumpster. Preparation for this daunting undertaking begins today, as they prepare for their Wednesday, June 18th launch at noon. For the next several days these two gentlemen and members of the front office staff will reach out and ask for your help in attaining their goal. Brad Fain expressed, "I'm so proud of the pride and determination of everyone in our organization, as they continue to work toward engaging individuals and businesses to become a part of this great community asset". He continued by saying, "I want to encourage the entire region to come out and show their support and appreciation in their efforts to building a successful organization and professional hockey in Northern Arizona. I am happy to make a sacrifice of myself toward reaching a larger community goal with this team."

Fans and spectators are encouraged to visit the site of the Sundogs' "Buried Alive" ticket campaign which will be held in the empty dirt lot, located off State Route Highway 69 and Prescott East Highway, in front of the Antelope Lanes Bowling Alley in Prescott Valley. Leza Lachapelle-Dandos, the Sundogs' in-arena host and host of Leza Live and Local on Magic 99.1, will be onsite Wednesday to help kick off the Sundogs ticket initiative.

Following a successful season that ended after being eliminated in the semi-finals of the playoffs in April, the Sundogs are looking to maintain that momentum and filling the building for their 2014-15 season. With the success of doubling their season ticket holder base last summer, the Sundogs saw their average attendance increase which ultimately provided a more enjoyable entertainment atmosphere for everyone. "Our objective is to ensure the longevity of the Sundogs in this community for many years to come", said Chris Presson. "Season tickets are, our bread and butter and through the support of our community and surrounding areas we will continue to make strides toward securing a place for hockey in Northern Arizona".

The Sundogs would like to reassure the community and their fans, all necessary safety precautions have been taken to ensure the safety of everyone involved, and emergency protocols are in place should a situation arise.

The Arizona Sundogs are the Central Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes. Season tickets, mini-plan, and single-game ticket information is now available by calling (928) 759-6600 or visiting arizonasundogs.com.
