Prince George Cougars News Release
Prince George, B.C. - The Prince George Cougars are pleased to announce that they have signed 1996-born forward Jordan Ross (Kronau, SK) to a standard WHL Contract.
Ross (6'3", 191 pounds) spent all of last season as a member of the Yorkton Terriers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. In 43 games, Ross tallied eight goals and seven assists along with 48 penalty minutes. He also added five goals and three assists in 14 playoff games and suited up in four games for the Terriers en route to a Royal Bank Cup Championship victory.
"Not only is Jordan a big and powerful forward, but he skates very well," said Prince George Cougars Interim G.M./Head Scout and Director of Player Personnel, Todd Harkins. "He's matured a ton over the last few months and was an instrumental part of the Yorkton Terriers run towards a National Championship."
Originally selected by the Seattle Thunderbirds in the ninth round (181st overall) in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft, Ross brings a little bit of everything to the table.
Harkins adds, "He's the type of player who can contribute in a lot of different ways both five-on-five and in special teams situations. We are very happy to add another proven winner to our team."
