Zephyrs Fall in El Paso

El Paso, Texas - El Paso's Jake Goebbert had two home runs and seven RBI to lead the Chihuahuas to a 8-4 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs. The loss snapped the Z's five game win streak.

The Zephyrs got on the board first scoring three times in the third inning. The Z's got a big two run home run from Derek Dietrich. The second basemen has four home runs in six games for the Zephyrs.

El Paso answered in the bottom of the third inning. Z's starter Bryan Evans allowed a base hit to Rico Noel and a walked Brooks Conrad when Jake Goebbert hammered a three run blast to right field to tie the game.

In the sixth inning, El Paso loaded the bases with two outs and Goebbert hit a opposite field line drive grand slam that just cleared the left field wall to give El Paso a 7-3 advantage.

Matt Wisler (3-4) a top San Diego Padres prospect pitched six innings allowed three runs on eight hits to earn the win. Edgar Olmos (0-1) pitched an inning and two thirds allowed one run the loss.

The Z's (36-31) have won 16 of their last 21 games remain in second place a game and a half back of Nashville.
