Arizona United Soccer Club Adds Rodney Wallace on Loan

PEORIA, Ariz. (Friday, June 6, 2014) -- Arizona United Soccer Club has received forward Rodney Wallace from the Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer on a two-match loan, pending USL PRO and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.

Wallace, 25, has spent the past three seasons with Portland, where he made 71 appearances, scored 10 goals and added nine assists. Before he was traded to the Timbers, he featured for D.C. United from 2009-2010, appearing in 39 matches with three goals.

A native of San Jose, Costa Rica, Wallace earned his first cap Sept. 2, 2011 and scored the winning goal for Costa Rica in a 1-0 victory against the United States. He has three goals in 16 international appearances and competed in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Wallace attended the University of Maryland and was a two-year starter for the Terrapins from 2007-2008, appearing in 46 matches with 10 goals and four assists. In his final season he was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Second Team.
