Road Warriors Defeat Cincinnati 3-2 in Overtime, Tie Series 2-2

Greenville, SC: The Road Warriors defeated Cincinnati 3-2 in overtime Saturday night after making another third period comeback completed by Sean Berkstresser in overtime.
Wade Megan gave Cincinnati the early lead 1:34 into the first period after tipping in a shot from Josh McFadden past Jeff Malcolm. The Road Warriors were outshot 12-10 and were unable to score on Rob Madore. The period ended with Greenville trailing 1-0.
The second period remained scoreless with neither goaltender giving up a goal. The Road Warriors outshot the Cyclones 14-8 and had a power play opportunity that they were unable to capitalize on. Cincinnati has five powerplay by the close of the second period that they could not score on. The period ended with Greenville still trailing 1-0.
Josh Nicholls tied the game at 1-1 just 6:51 into the third period when he scored on the rebound off a shot by Andrew Yogan. With 5:27 left in the period, Byron Froese regained the Cyclones lead when he chipped a shot over the glove of Malcolm. With 1:44 left, The Road Warriors created more last minute magic. Jordie Johnston scored off a centering pass from Yogan to tie the game at two and force overtime for the second game in a row. When overtime began, Devon Krogh was called on an interference penalty to put Cincinnati down a man. Brian Nugent was also called on a delay of game penalty to give the Road Warriors a 5-on-3 power play. Sean Berkstresser scored 3:38 in overtime to win the game 3-2 and even the series at 2-2. Malcolm stopped 27 shots for his third win of the postseason.
The Road Warriors are back in action tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. when they host the Cyclones in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Fans can purchase a $5 kids meal at the concession stand which includes a soft drink, hot dog and bag of chips!
