Thunder Donate $678,171 to the Stockton Community

May 19, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL)
Stockton Thunder News Release

The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's New York Islanders, AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, and proud member of the Stockton community have donated $678,171 in cash, tickets and memorabilia to non-profit, civic and community groups during the 2013-14 season.

Over $400,000 of this investment into our community can be traced back to the Thunder's academic programs, "Be Cool Read" and "Academic All-Stars" presented by Edward T. Graham, D.D.S., along with "I am Here" and "Be A Winner" presented by Chase Chevrolet.

These programs incentivize students that achieve great things (both in and out of the classroom) with free Stockton Thunder tickets. There is no cost associated for the schools or students to participate in any or all of the school programs. For a list of all the schools that participate visit StocktonThunder.com/School.

Throughout the 2013-14 season, the organization continued to host its hallmark cause-based marketing games including Thunder Goes Pink VIII (November 1 and 2), Hockey With Heart (February 1), Covanta Energy Easy Being Green weekend (March 14 and 15) and Military Appreciation Weekend (April 4 and 5).

During those four events, a total of $32,082 was raised and donated to St. Joseph's Foundation - Breast Health Services, the American Heart Association, United Cerebal Palsy Association of Stanislaus County and Welcome Home Heroes Foundation respectively.

Ticket packages for the 2014-15 season are on sale now. Visit StocktonThunder.com for information regarding Season Tickets and Mini Plans or call 209-373-1500 to learn more.
