Explosion Capture Back to Back Titles, League Announces Award Winners

MARION,OH - The Erie Explosion defeated the Marion Blue Racers yesterday to capture their second consecutive league title with a 38-26 victory. After the Explosion jumped out to an early 19-0 lead it looked to be anyone's game when the Blue Racers stormed back with 26 unanswered points before the Explosion pulled away late in the fourth.
During halftime the CIFL announced the winners of 2014 league honors (as voted on by the coaches and owners of each team in the league).
The CIFL is proud to announce this years player awards:
Offensive Player of the Year - Aaron Smentanka, Erie Explosion
Defensive Player of the Year - Spenser Smith, Saginaw Sting
Special Teams Player of Year - Julie Harshbarger, Chicago Blitz
League MVP - Thomas McKenzie, Marion Blue Racers
Coach of the Year - Lamonte Coleman, Marion Blue Racers
All-League Team award winners will be announced later this week.
