Erie Explosion News Release
Erie, PA - The Erie Explosion defeated the Saginaw Sting on May 9th (46-15) making Erie the 2014 CIFL Northern Division Champions. While Erie hoped to host the Championship game at home for the second consecutive year, they will be traveling to Marion on Sunday May 18th to play at the Marion Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Erie has played Marion twice during the 2014 Season each winning on home turf. Erie won 43-23 at the Erie Insurance Arena on February 16th and Marion then defeated Erie at the Marion Veterans Memorial Coliseum with a nail biting 22-21 win.
The results of Sunday's game will determine who brings home the 2014 CIFL Championship Trophy. All of us here at the Erie Explosion wish our boys the best of luck and have faith that they will be holding the 2014 Trophy Sunday evening.
