Michigan Warriors News Release

The Fairbanks Ice Dogs scored 3 goals in a 6:03 span in the 1st Period to stake the home team to a 1-0 lead in the best of 3 series, winning the game in Fairbanks 3-1 Friday night.

Fairbanks got goals from Jacob Hetz (2), Hans Gorowsky (3), and Yannick Vedel (3) while Jake Hopfner netted his first of the playoffs at the 10:30 mark of the 3rd Period to cut the Ice Dogs lead to 2 goals, but that was as close as Michigan would come.

Michigan's Trevor Gorsuch made 32 saves as Fairbanks handed the Warriors netminder his first loss of the playoffs, while Kevin Aldridge stopped 30 Warriors shots in the Fairbanks victory. Aldridge picked up his 7th win of the playoffs for the Ice Dogs

Michigan and Fairbanks once again drop the puck for Game #2 of this Best-of-Three game series Saturday night at 11:30 Eastern.
