Today's Game: The RedHawks open a four-game series in Omaha at 7:05 p.m. at Werner Park, trying to avoid a third-straight loss. This marks the first meeting between the teams since they squared off in the 2013 PCL playoffs.

Last Game: The RedHawks suffered their second shutout loss of the season Thursday, as Round Rock won the series finale between the teams, 3-0, at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Round Rock's first four hits went for extra bases, as the Express took a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Jared Hoying homered to right field, and Ryan Strauborger added a bloop RBI double with two outs. OKC had chances to score in the fifth and sixth both snuffed out by Strausborger in left field. He threw out Andy Simunic at the plate on a Robbie Grossman double to end the fifth, and then made a running and jumping catch on a deep line drive by Kiké Hernandez with the bases loaded to end the sixth. Round Rock starter Nick Tepesch (5-1) struck out six, walked two and allowed three hits over five innings in the win. Roman Mendez and Ben Rowen (SV, 1) combined to hold OKC scoreless over the final four innings and complete the shutout. RedHawks pitcher Nick Tropeano (1-2) took the loss, allowing two runs on four hits, walking two and striking out four over four innings.

Today's Probable Pitcher: David Martinez (3-2) makes the start, aiming for a team-leading fourth win of the season...He last pitched against Nashville Sunday in a piggyback role, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits over three innings. During the stretch, he gave up just three hits, walked one and struck out seven. However, over his next two outings, he picked up back-to-back losses, allowing seven runs and 11 hits over seven-plus innings...Martinez was named the 2013 Astros Minor League Pitcher of the Year after going a combined 14-4 with a 2.57 ERA between Double-A Corpus Christi and the RedHawks. He led Astros minor leaguers in wins and ranked third in ERA...Martinez was also named Texas League Pitcher of the Year and a Midseason and Postseason Texas League All-Star.

Werner Park Walk-Offs: The RedHawks have had trouble closing out games at Werner Park over the past two seasons, losing four separate times after having a lead in the final inning. On Sept. 6, 2013, the RedHawks at one point held a 5-0 advantage and led 6-4 in the bottom of the eighth with two outs when Gorkys Hernandez hit a go-ahead--and eventual game-winning--three-run homer, eliminating the RedHawks from the playoffs. Six of Omaha's nine wins against OKC over the last two seasons have been in walk-off fashion.

Road Warriors: The RedHawks have collected a league-leading 10 wins on the road. They have won the opening game in each of their first four road series and have not lost an away series so far in 2014.

Not Petit at the Plate: Gregorio Petit was 0-for-3 last night to end an 11-game hitting streak - a personal season best and the second-longest by a RedHawk this season (Max Stassi - 12). During the streak he hit.356 (16x45), including six doubles, a home run, five RBI and 11 runs scored. Petit leads the RedHawks with 33 hits and 10 multi-hit games.

Torrid Torreyes: Ronny Torreyes is 7-for-18 (.389) over his last five games, including three multi-hit efforts. After going 2-for-3 last night, he is now tied with Gregorio Petit for the team lead in multi-hit games (10).

Stuck in Neutral: The RedHawks are in their first team-wide slump of the season, scoring just four runs over the past three games combined. They are batting .193 (17x88) and are 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position.

RISPy Business: Over the recently completed eight-game homestand, the RedHawks held their opponents to a .167 (10x60) mark with runners in scoring position. Although they have done a tremendous job holding opponents to a .192 average with runners and scoring position with two outs this season, the Express went 5-for-11 in those situations the past two nights, scoring five of their eight runs.

Dinger Details: For the first time this season, the RedHawks have been held without a home run in consecutive games. Overall they've gone deep in 23 of their first 28 contests, and their 30 homers are second-most in the PCL. The pitching staff allowed just one homer over the four-game set against Round Rock, immediately following a series in which they allowed seven to Nashville.

Running Game Grounded: The RedHawks have not stolen a base in nine consecutive games. They currently rank tied for seventh in the league with 18 steals. Last season they set a team record and led all of Triple-A with 172 stolen bases.

Bullish Bullpen: During the Round Rock series, the OKC bullpen allowed just two runs and 11 hits over 19 innings with 24 strikeouts
