Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies defeated the Milwaukee Admirals, AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators, by a score of 2-0 tonight at Ricoh Coliseum to earn a three-game sweep in round one of the Calder Cup Playoffs. With tonight's victory, the Marlies have now swept their first round playoff opponent for the third straight year.
After a scoreless opening frame, Greg McKegg broke the deadlock on a power play at 17:31 of the middle frame. T.J. Brennan added an empty net goal to secure a 2-0 victory for the Marlies. Drew MacIntyre stopped all 29 shots he faced to earn his third consecutive victory.
