Express Gets Back on the Winning Track

Round Rock Express News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Round Rock Express (14-12) got back on the winning track Wednesday, breaking out of a hitting slump to beat the Oklahoma City RedHawks (15-12) 5-2 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
Round Rock received another excellent pitching performance from starter Ryan Feierabend (4-1, 2.94 ERA) on Wednesday, as the left-hander shrugged off a shaky start to turn in his fourth consecutive quality start. The E-Train jumped on the scoreboard early in this one, allowing Feierabend the comfort of pitching with a lead.
After scoring just one run in the first two games of the series, Round Rock came out swinging, scoring two runs in the top of the first. Bryan Petersen and Adam Rosales each singled to lead off the game. After an out, Petersen came around to plate the game's first run on a single by designated hitter Brad Snyder. Rosales later scored on a two-out Jared Hoying double to put the E-Train in front 2-0.
Oklahoma City strung together three hits with two outs in the home half of the first to cut Round Rock's lead to one. With runners on the corners and two away, left fielder Domingo Santana ripped an RBI double to left to score Tuesday night's hero Gregorio Petit.
The Express added to their advantage with two runs in the third. Rosales reached on a throwing error by the RedHawks' shortstop Petit to begin the inning and advanced to third when catcher Brett Nicholas doubled to right. Snyder then drove home Rosales with a sacrifice fly to center. Two batters later, Hoying delivered his second two-out RBI of the game with a single to score Nicholas.
Feierabend, who exited following the sixth, allowed one run on five hits over six innings, while striking out three and walking two to record his fourth win.
Round Rock's final run came as the result of a two-out rally in the ninth as right fielder Ryan Strausborger lined a single into left field to extend the inning, moved to second on a wild pitch and, after an intentional walk to Petersen, scored on an RBI single from Rosales.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Meyer plated Max Stassi with a sacrifice fly in the RedHawks' final at-bat to bring the final score to 5-2.
The E-Train got two-hit nights from Petersen, Rosales, Hoying and newcomer Jordan Brown in the victory.
With the win, Round Rock remains in first place in the PCL American Southern Division standings.
The Express will conclude their four-game series with the RedHawks Thursday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. RHP Nick Tepesch (4-1, 1.82 ERA), who tossed the E-Train's first complete-game shutout since 2010 in his last outing, will start for Round Rock as they look for the series split. Oklahoma City will counter with RHP Nick Tropeano (1-1, 2.74 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
