Albany Devils News Release

St. John's, NL - Kael Mouillierat's lone goal 17:50 into Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals proved to be the game-winner in the St. John's IceCaps 1-0 victory against the Albany Devils Wednesday at Mile One Centre. St. John's pulls ahead of the Devils, 2-1, in the best-of-five series.

"He tried to make a lateral pass in front of our blueline and our D was coming off," said Head Coach Rick Kowalsky of Mouillierat's goal. "They got a piece of it and redirected it to their D in the neutral zone. They went in on the breakaway; a turnover and a bad line change."

Mouillierat's first goal of the postseason came late in the first period on a partial breakaway in the zone. A backhander beat Keith Kinkaid glove-side.

Despite the lone blemish, Kinkaid put on a show in the crease, making 34 saves on 35 shots. The Devils netminder faced 17 shots in the first period, 13 in the second and five in the final frame.

"[Keith] was outstanding," Kowalsky said. "He made big save after big save. "A lot of it was fighting through traffic; he had good rebound control. He did everything he could to give us a chance to win that game."

"It's easier to get into the game with a few shots right away," Kinkaid said. "I felt pretty good the whole game. You just control yourself and just try to give the boys a chance to win."

On the other end, IceCap's Michael Hutchinson stopped all 24 of the Devils shots for his first postseason shutout.

Albany was outshot 35-24 and went 6-6 on the penalty kill.

The Devils will fight elimination Friday against St. John's for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Puck is set to drop at 6 pm (ET).
