Hester Single Gives Bees Extra Inning Win

April 30, 2014 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Salt Lake Bees News Release

John Hester delivered a two-out RBI single in the eleventh inning to give the Salt Lake Bees a 4-3 win over the Albuquerque Isotopes on Tuesday night. Roberto Lopez led off the eleventh with a single to center. With one out, Lopez stole second and moved to third on a ground out before Hester drilled the first pitch into right field to bring home Lopez with the eventual winning run. The Bees trailed 3-0 before Grant Green's two-run double in the eighth brought them to within one.

Salt Lake tied it in the ninth, as C.J. Cron opened the inning with a double and moved to third on a single by Brennan Boesch. With one out, Hester was intentionally walked to the load the bases before Drew Heid's sacrifice fly scored pinch runner Lopez with the tying run.

Danny Reynolds (1-0) earned the win in his Triple-A debut with two scoreless innings. He allowed just one hit and struck out three after being promoted from Single-A Inland Empire. Green led the Bees with two hits and two runs batted in, while Cron, Boesch and Taylor Lindsey each added two hits.
