Kings Assign Fraser to Monarchs; Kitsyn, MacDermid Join Manchester

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have assigned forward Colin Fraser to the Monarchs, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. In addition, the Monarchs have recalled left wing Maxim Kitsyn from the ECHL's Ontario Reign and signed defenseman Kurtis MacDermid to an amateur tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced on Monday.
Fraser played in 33 regular season games for the Kings this season, recording two assists and 30 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Sicamous, British Columbia played in 10 regular season games for the Monarchs this season, recording six points (3-36) and four penalty minutes.
Kitsyn, 24, appeared in 20 games with the Monarchs this season, and collected four points with three goals and one assist. He also earned 30 points (14-1630) and 27 penalty minutes in 33 games with the Reign this season. Prior to turning pro, he appeared in eight games with the Kontinental Hockey League's Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo during the 2012-13 season.
MacDermid, 20, played in 28 games with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League where he collected three points (2-13) and 75 penalty minutes this season. The 6-foot-3, 186-pound native of Sauble Beach, Ontario also recorded three assists and 29 penalty minutes in 12 playoff games with the Otters. MacDermid also collected 16 points (5-1116) and 90 penalty minutes in 38 games with the OHL's Owen Sound Attack before being traded to Erie this season. He played for the Attack for parts of three seasons (2011-2014) and registered 26 points (6-2026) and 207 penalty minutes in 112 games.
The Monarchs will battle the Norfolk Admirals at 7:15 p.m. at the Norfolk Scope Arena in Game 3 of the 2014 Calder Cup Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on Wednesday, April 30.
